Meet Axle The Cat and Ripple The Dog, Two MCHS Shelter All-Stars Ready for their Fur-Ever Homes!

Axle the cat, gray tabby,

Axle is a regular bundle of mischief and joy! At seven months old, he has come into his own as a playful and curious cat. He has been at MCHS since August of this year. Axle bonds best through a good old fashioned play session. He is incredibly mobile, spending his time darting around the Kitty Cottage in pursuit of a toy, or simply running circles around the other cats. Axle does very good with other cats, especially ones that are close to his own age. However, he is also more than comfortable with living as a one-cat-show. Axle would do best in a home where people can appreciate a cat who likes his own space, and loves his playtime. Axle's adoption fee is $60.00. Then Ripple may be just who you're looking for! Ripple is a 1 year old large mixed breed. He is the ultimate ride-or-die companion: he is happiest when he is in the company of his person. He is exceptionally gentle and loving, and would do fantastic in a home where he is able to be the center of somebody's world. Ripple is a dog that loves a good workout. He's especially fond of running, and playing fetch. An important thing to know about Ripple is that he is an escape artist. We are not quite sure how Ripple does with cats. Ripple would do best in a home where his people will dote on his every whim, and keep him in a secure environment. Thanks to a generous patron, Ripple's adoption fee has been sponsored. Happy New Year From MCHS

Happy New Year! Let’s take a moment to reflect on 2025 before getting into January’s news. Thanks to you, our donors, sponsors, staff, and volunteers in 2025 we were able to find 502 animals their fur-ever homes, reunite 209 lost pets with their families! Dr. Clare and our veterinary staff were able to alter (spay/neuter) an astounding 1249 cats and dogs! We are profoundly grateful to everyone who read our newsletter, shared our posts on social media, opened their homes as fosters and adopters, volunteered their time and talents, and donated their hard earned money. In December we saw an outpouring of generosity and Holiday Miracles. Thank you to everyone who donated special Holiday Shelter Meals for our dogs, bought us much needed supplies from our wishlist , attended our Dine Outs, Festival of Trees, and the Hair Ball! We know how busy December is for people, and it means the world to us that you found the time and resources to show up for us! Read on to learn more and see what’s coming up for MCHS …
